EMAT Technology
The EMAT technology of today market is combined of ultrasonic testing (UT) providing a numerous generation
of ultrasonic waves for many different inspection applications needed. Depending on the type of damage
mechanizium EMATS can generate Rayleigh surface waves; SH modes (Angle Beam probes) for crack detection,
 SO waves modes for corrosion, guided wave and so on. All of these can be used at elevated temperatures for
on-stream inspections, liquid filled lines and can be set very sensitive for very small defects or set-up for a

The Benefits of using EMATS
EMATS application is used to cover large areas of material (piping or plate) for the mechanical integrity programs
needed today. This is an excellent way to inspect for Pre turnarounds also as stated above. EMATS are very
universal and can be configured for the type inspection you need from Frequencies, Transducer arrangements,
thru transmission, pulse echo, thickness, and long-range guided wave. The service does not have to be shut down
for this inspection like some others and it can be set very sensitive. These systems are portable and can be
operated on ether 110 volt or 220 volt. Our systems operate in windows and you can record the complete scan
for your records. The automated scanners are encoded for the positioning of the locations and footage. You can
burn a CD from the field each day fro your records or further evaluations. We offer a real time stacked A Scan for
defect detection in our OMNI 6. Software. Any inspection problem can be address thru our research and
development department. We have engineers that are willing to solve your inspection needs.
